Human and Animal Features Remix

Physiognomy (relationship between an individual's outward appearance and inner character) was common in Middle Ages and was even taught in universities... French artist Charles LeBrun applies some of the principles of this "science" and shows us some character traits revealed in human/animal portraits:

Prepare for the Summer: Ride This Intelligent Beast

We had an opportunity to speak with Sea-Doo’s Director of Engineering Renald Plante recently. He was keen to highlight the Sea-Doo's latest models and point out the industry-first Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR) and Intelligent Suspension (iS) safety systems in these 2009 models:

Indeed, these are inspiring machines: Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS 255 -

The World's first braking system.... the world's first full suspension in a watercraft.... the most powerful production engine. Truly an epic machine.

Sea-Doo RXT iS 255 -

The revolutionary technology and cutting-edge design so visible in these models was already recognized by the US Coast Guard and Motorboating magazine. All you need to do is to dream yourself riding these machines - and wonders! - the dream might just come true.

We covered multiple on-water technological advances before, see our "Cool Amphibious Vehicles" article

Glass Cephalopods

The incredibly detailed and highly fragile tentacled glass invertebrate models were created by Leopold (1822 - 1895) & Rudolf (1857 - 1939) Blaschka - this is only part of about 360 glass animals housed at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology:

"While the rarity and beauty of Harvard's Glass Flowers have won them fame and made them the Harvard Museum of Natural History's (HMNH) most popular exhibit, the glass animals exist in relative obscurity." - More info
