Shimizu Megacity Pyramid

We wrote about Shimizu Megacity Pyramid before (see our article) Now more details of the project emerge in this video - showing the largest man-made structure on Earth, with elaborate transportation system, more than 2 kilometers high:

A Chariot with a Steeple

Seen at Rato Machhendranath Festival in Patan, Nepal (celebrating the powers over rain) - this rickety looking wooden structure is moved around for more than a month, resembling at times a weird Christmas tree.

Interesting Kazakhstan Architecture

From Almaty "Kazakh Telekom" headquarters and a new monument in Astana:

Here is a closer view of that monument, with a projected building nearby (that looks like a Powerpoint 3D bar chart):

But this building is something else... anyone knows where it's located?

UPDATE Ruben says: "This building with the big hole in the facade is a design of the Dutch studio MVRDV. It's called "El Mirador", and it's located in Sanchinarro, close to Madrid." (completed in 2004). Here is a view inside of it:

Think about living there, and keeping your sanity.

The Answer to Everything could be 42, after all

"There is an important sequence of numbers called "the moments of the Riemann zeta function."

Although we know abstractly how to define it, mathematicians have had great difficulty explicitly calculating the numbers in the sequence. We have known since the 1920s that the first two numbers are 1 and 2, but it wasn't until a few years ago that mathematicians conjectured that the third number in the sequence may be 42—a figure greatly significant to those well-versed in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

It would also prove to be significant in confirming the connection between primes and quantum physics. Using the connection, Keating and Snaith not only explained why the answer to life, the universe and the third moment of the Riemann zeta function should be 42, but also provided a formula to predict all the numbers in the sequence."
